Junk Removal Across Calcasieu Parish
Seven towns, different pickup rules, one local crew. Pickups start at $125 and estimates are free.
Every Town Here Throws Out Junk Differently
Lake Charles has city pickup with a list of exceptions, starting with remodel debris and tires. Sulphur wants arrangements made before large trash goes near the street. Moss Bluff has no city service at all, and Iowa takes bagged trash on Mondays and Tuesdays. Where your old couch is allowed to go depends on which side of a line you live on.
Get it wrong and the pile just sits, or worse. Outside city limits, the parish litter ordinance puts a first illegal dumping conviction at a $500 to $1,000 fine. The free parish drop-offs help if you can haul it yourself, but everything has to fit in their containers, tires are capped at five a day, and commercial waste is turned away.
Klutter Krewe works the whole parish. Pick your town for the local rules, or skip the research: text a photo, get a real number, and a veteran-owned crew loads it from wherever it sits.
Every job starts the same way, wherever you are in the parish: a few photos, a free estimate, then the crew does the lifting and sweeps up behind.
Outside Calcasieu Parish, we also haul in Rayne, in Acadia Parish.

What Calcasieu Parish Residents Ask
Most of what people search about junk removal comes down to cost, so the first two answers start there.
Pickup service starts at $125. The final price depends on volume, material type, labor and disposal requirements, and construction debris and other specialty materials can carry added disposal costs. Estimates are free, so send a photo and get the real number first.
If you can haul it yourself, the parish runs two free Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers, on Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles and Post Oak Road in Sulphur, for residents with a valid driver’s license. Everything has to fit in their containers, tires are limited to five per day, and appliances must be freon-free with the doors removed. Check the parish convenience center page for current hours.
Klutter Krewe is based in Calcasieu Parish and serves Lake Charles, Sulphur, Westlake, Moss Bluff, Iowa, DeQuincy, Vinton and the surrounding communities. If you are not sure you are in range, call and ask.
It depends on where you live. Lake Charles collects household trash that will not fit in the cart but not remodel debris or tires, and appliances need a call ahead. Sulphur says large trash should not go near the street before pickup is arranged. Outside city limits, illegal dumping fines start at $500. When in doubt, book the haul first.
Not always. Plenty of people let us in and check the photos afterward. If you would rather walk the job with us and point at what goes, that works too.
Two Free Drop-Offs, and What They Will Not Take
The parish runs two free convenience centers for residents, according to Pick It Up Calcasieu: the East center at 5500 B Swift Plant Road in Lake Charles and the West center at 2915 Post Oak Road in Sulphur. Bring a valid driver’s license, which gets scanned at the booth to confirm you live in the parish.
What they turn away
- Commercial and industrial waste
- Anything that does not fit in their containers
- More than five tires per person per day, or tires on rims
- Appliances that are not freon-free with the doors removed
- Asbestos siding, medical waste, motor oil and antifreeze
If the load is too big, too heavy or too mixed for that, it is a job for us.
